He holds a MSc in Emerging Economies and Inclusive Development from King’s College London and has worked as a consultant for the International Labour Organisation in Geneva.”
After completing a Bachelor in Actuarial Science in Anahuac University (Mexico City) in 2014, he gained first-hand experience in microfinance from Grameen Bank and Grameen Trust in Bangladesh, where he did the final report on the Banrural Grameen eight-year project in Guatemala.
Iker holds a MSc in Emerging Economies and Inclusive Development by King’s College London. His dissertation, titled “Filling the Microinsurance Evaluation Gap” was recognized as the best dissertation of the programme. The study maps the existing evaluation practices in the microinsurance industry around the world and puts forward options to improve such practices. His areas of expertise include financial inclusion, poverty and inequality, political economy, and development evaluation.
Before joining MiCRO, Iker was working as an independent evaluation consultant for the International Labour Organisation in Geneva. He has also worked in the private sector in the areas of tourism, insurance underwriting, and business consulting. Iker is fluent in Spanish, English and French.BACK TO ALL BIOS
